Nej. Två kurvor som rör sig parallellt — även med förskjutning — säger ingenting om orsakssamband. Tredje variabler (befolkningsökning, lagändringar, registreringspraxis) kan driva båda serierna.

Varför saknas några år?

Antingen har källan inte publicerat värdet, eller så finns ett känt tidsseriebrott (t.ex. Brå:s omklassificering av sexualbrott 2018). Notationen finns per serie under diagrammet.

Hur fungerar indexeringen?

Vi sätter första överlappande år till 100 för båda serierna. Ett indexvärde på 130 betyder +30 % jämfört med den startpunkten. Bra när enheterna skiljer sig åt (t.ex. antal skjutningar vs personer per 100 000).
