Statistics about Sweden from official sources. SVERIGEFAKTA is an independent facts and statistics platform that brings together public statistics, research and other verifiable sources — with a source, a definition and a date on every figure.

Why SVERIGEFAKTA exists

Much of the statistics that describe Sweden is already published — but scattered across agency databases, report annexes and tables that are hard to find, compare and check. We bring it together, make it comparable and show where every figure comes from.

The purpose is to make public statistics easier to find, understand, compare and verify. Not to dramatise, and not to gloss over.

What we are — and are not

  • Not a public authority and not an official producer of statistics.

  • Not a substitute for the original sources; they are always linked.

Who runs the site
The site is run privately by a small editorial team that currently does not publish its names, for security and privacy reasons. The team belongs to no political party, public agency or media group.(checked 2026-09-14)

Hosting and development are currently paid for by the editorial team itself and by voluntary donations. The site carries no advertising, no paid content, and accepts no sponsorship or public grants.(checked 2026-09-14)

Advertising, membership and API

Editorial independence
No external party reviews, approves or commissions the content. Selection and wording are made by the editorial team, and every figure is published with its source so the reader can check it.(checked 2026-09-14)
Corrections policy
Verified errors are corrected in the open. The change is dated and described in the changelog, and earlier content is not overwritten without a trace. Method clarifications and versions are handled in the same log.(checked 2026-09-14)
Method principles
Official statistics, own calculations, models and analysis are labelled and kept apart. The method portal documents data, operation and output for every active calculation of our own.(checked 2026-09-14)
Privacy and analytics
Analytics are cookie-free and aggregated. The public domain loads two external analytics scripts, Fathom Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics; they set no cookies and do not identify individual visitors. No visitor data is sold or shared.(checked 2026-09-14)

Corrections and versions are handled in the changelog. The method principles are in the method portal. Voluntary contributions are accepted via Support and grant no access, no influence and no insight into the content.

We establish what is measured before we phrase anything about it.
Uncertainty is reported
Margins of error, series breaks and thin evidence are spelled out.
Counter-evidence is not hidden
Results that speak against an interpretation are included.
In-house calculations are labelled
Derived, modelled and projected values are kept separate from observed ones.
Errors are corrected openly
We never overwrite earlier content without a trace.
No one buys the conclusion
External funding gives no influence over the content.

You do not have to take our word for anything. Every figure links to its source, every change is dated and the method is published in full.
