    New page: Does camera surveillance work?

    Empirical review under Safety & Crime of Brå's 2018 meta-study: the cameras work on planned property crime (car parks, residential areas) but have no demonstrated effect on violent crime or public-order offences. Also presents the ESO critique and diverging local Swedish evaluations. No invented camera counts or cost totals — ”not publicly aggregated” is spelled out where data is missing.

    Fyra nya undersidor som bygger ut sajtens transparens: en flagship-sida om varför sysselsättning förklarar nästan hela skillnaden, en sida med ordagranna citat ur KI/Ruist/Brå, en internationell jämförelse, och denna changelog.

    Brå-tabellen får standardiserad-kolumn

    Brå-tabellen visar nu både rå överrisk (2,5x) och socioekonomiskt standardiserad (1,5x) — eftersom Brå 2021:9 publicerar båda och båda är relevanta. Att bara visa rådata överskattar; att bara visa standardiserad underskattar.

    Kalkylatorn byter till KI-cykelsnitt 2015–2022

    Den kommunala kalkylatorn använde tidigare 2022 som referensår. 2022 var ett ovanligt starkt konjunkturår vilket gav falsk precision. Sajten visar nu cykelsnittet 2015–2022 som huvudsiffra, med 2022 som ”toppår” för transparens.

    Flagship-sida som delar upp invandringen efter skäl (arbetskraft, flykting, anhörig) och visar KI 2022 + KI-cykel + Ruist livscykel sida vid sida. Inkluderar scenario-slider för sysselsättningsgapet samt avsnittet ”Vad datan INTE säger”.

  6. Tone

    Förstasidans hero skrivs om

    Hero-texten skrev tidigare om ”data och analyser om invandringens långsiktiga konsekvenser” — för generiskt. Ny ton: ”utan att dölja siffror som inte passar någon sidas tes”. Slutsatsen flyttas upp: utfallet avgörs nästan helt av arbete.

    KI Specialstudie 117 (juni 2025) blir huvudkälla för tvärsnittsdata

    Vi övergår från Ruist 2018 som enda källa till en uppdelning: KI Specialstudie 117 för år-för-år, Ruist för livstidsperspektiv. Skälen redovisas på /metod.

  1. Q1 2026Statistics Sweden BE0101 — Population by background

    Full-year 2025 update of the population statistics

    Statistics Sweden normally publishes full-year data for the previous year in March. We then refresh every municipal map, foreign- vs native-born shares, and the second-generation figures.

    Affects: The map, /demographics-municipal, /big-cities, /second-generation, and the sidebar figure for ”share of foreign-born”.

  2. Q2 2026NIER — Special Study (follow-up to SS 117)

    Extending the net contribution series to 2023–2024

    NIER has announced a follow-up covering the 2023 downturn. Since 2022 was a peak year, the average is expected to push the ”other foreign-born” figures down and to make the cyclical sensitivity in the refugee group more visible.

    Affects: kiCycleSeries in src/data/figures.ts, the municipal calculator, /profitable-for-whom and /work-decides — likely a downward revision of ”other foreign-born” from the cycle average of +SEK 11,400.

  3. Q2 2026Brå (Swedish Crime Council) — Suspected of crime (follow-up to 2021:9)

    New foreign-born vs native-born report from Brå

    Brå has announced an updated version of 2021:9. It is expected to contain both raw and socioeconomically standardised figures, so we can replace today's 2.5x/1.5x with fresh numbers and extend the time series.

    Affects: The Brå table in src/components/bra-chart.tsx, /crime-and-safety, /omissions, and the quote on /source-in-original.

  4. Q3 2026ESO / Ruist — possible update to the lifecycle measure

    New lifecycle calculation, if ESO commissions one

    No new report has been announced, but ESO has historically revisited the question every 5–7 years. If it comes, we replace the SEK 74,000/year and ~SEK 1m lifetime cost with fresh numbers and report the gap against the NIER cycle average.

    Affects: The Ruist column in the comparison table on /profitable-for-whom and the quotes on /source-in-original.

  5. OngoingSource review (internal)

    Page-level verification of exact citations in NIER/Ruist/Brå

    Each quarter we walk through every quote on /source-in-original against the PDF and adjust the page number if pagination has changed between reprints. Any discrepancy is logged as a ”correction” above.

    Affects: /source-in-original and every figure that cites a specific page in NIER SS 117, ESO 2018:3, and Brå 2021:9.
